Terms and Conditions for Young Carers Platform
Last Updated: November 2024
1. Introduction
Welcome to the Young Carers Platform, operated by Upstream Outcomes Ltd. These terms and conditions govern your use of our platform, which is provided to help support young carers in their roles. By using the platform, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
2. User Types and Access
-
Young Carers: The primary users of the platform are young carers aged 13 and above. They have access to services such as assessments, AI-driven consultations, and tailored support plans.
-
Carer Support Teams: Partner organisations, such as local councils, carer charities, and NHS organisations, may access a partner portal to view more detailed information about young carers, but only with the carer’s explicit consent.
3. Platform Services
The platform provides services such as carer assessments, support plans, and AI-generated advice tailored to young carers’ needs. The platform is free for young carers and is offered as a contracted Software as a Service (SaaS) solution to partner organisations like carer charities, councils, and NHS organisations.
4. Eligibility
The platform is only available in regions where there is a local partner providing carer services. This is because the platform is designed to work alongside existing local carer services and is not intended to be used in isolation.
5. User Responsibilities
-
Accurate Information: Users must provide accurate and up-to-date information when using the platform.
-
Appropriate Use: Users must not share inappropriate, harmful, or offensive content on the platform.
-
Local Support: The platform should be used to help improve carers’ lives and caring roles in coordination with local support services.
6. Data Collection and User Consent
We collect data as outlined in our privacy policy, including information for assessments and consultations. Carers have full control over the information they provide and can withdraw their consent for data sharing at any time.
7. Third-Party Services
We use third-party systems hosted on Microsoft Azure, which includes Open AI Chat GPT services. While we strive to ensure the privacy and security of your data, please note that these systems are integral to the services we provide.
8. Content Ownership
All content created or generated on the platform is owned by Upstream Outcomes Ltd. This includes AI-generated support plans and recommendations.
9. Limitations of AI-Generated Content
The information provided by the platform is generated using AI technologies. While we aim to provide helpful and relevant advice, users should be aware that the content may have limitations in accuracy and may not always reflect the most current information. We encourage users to seek advice from local carer support services for critical matters.
10. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate user accounts for any violation of these terms, misuse of the platform, or any other reason that impacts the safety and integrity of the platform and its users.
11. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute, users should first contact their local partner carer service, which provides support through the platform. If a resolution cannot be reached, further steps may be taken in accordance with applicable local regulations.
12. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the UK courts.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms and conditions from time to time. Updates will be posted on our main website, and continued use of the platform indicates acceptance of the updated terms.
